WINTER PLANTS

In winter there are still plenty of trees, plants and shrubs that brighten things up with their shape, color and/or scent. In addition to ornamental grasses, panicle hydrangeas and boxwood shapes, the winter plants below attract a lot of attention during this gray period.

Evergreen plants
Evergreen winter plants provide greenery in your garden all winter long. Evergreen shrubs are best planted in spring or autumn.

fake holly
False holly Osmanthus heterophyllus ‘Sasaba’ is an unknown and underused evergreen shrub whose foliage is reminiscent of holly. It grows slowly and eventually reaches a height of one and a half meters. This attractive evergreen has fragrant flowers in April. Portuguese laurel
The Portuguese laurel Prunus lusitanica ‘Angustifolia’ is a very strong shrub. It has green leaves with red stems all winter long. A striking plant that can also be used as a low hedge. The final height is 125 cm. Unlike many other laurel cherries, this variety can be kept narrow. Prune it twice a year, in May and in August.
